The antibody against BTBD1 was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 400 to the C-terminus of human BTBD1 (NP_079514.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
BTBD1
Target Full Name
BTB/POZ domain-containing protein 1
Target Function
Probable substrate-specific adapter of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Seems to regulate expression levels and/or subnuclear distribution of TOP1, via an unknown mechanism. May play a role in mesenchymal differentiation where it promotes myogenic differentiation and suppresses adipogenesis.
Target Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm.
Target Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous; highest levels in testes, heart and skeletal muscle.
Target Synonyms
BTBD1; C15orf1; NS5ATP8BTB/POZ domain-containing protein 1; Hepatitis C virus NS5A-transactivated protein 8; HCV NS5A-transactivated protein 8
Target Background
The C-terminus of the protein encoded by this gene binds topoisomerase I. The N-terminus contains a proline-rich region and a BTB/POZ domain (broad-complex, Tramtrack and bric a brac/Pox virus and Zinc finger), both of which are typically involved in protein-protein interactions. Subcellularly, the protein localizes to cytoplasmic bodies. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
