Rabbit anti-Human POLR2F Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against POLR2F was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-127 of human POLR2F (NP_068809.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P61218

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    POLR2F

  • Target Full Name

DNA-directed RNA polymerases I, II, and III subunit RPABC2

  • Target Function

DNA-dependent RNA polymerases catalyze the transcription of DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. Common component of RNA polymerases I, II, and III which synthesize ribosomal RNA precursors, mRNA precursors and many functional non-coding RNAs, and small RNAs, such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs, respectively. Pol II is the central component of the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Pols are composed of mobile elements that move relative to each other. In Pol II, POLR2F/RPB6 is part of the clamp element and together with parts of RPB1 and RPB2 forms a pocket to which the RPB4-RPB7 subcomplex binds.

  • Target Subcellular Location

  • Target Protein Families

Archaeal RpoK/eukaryotic RPB6 RNA polymerase subunit family

  • Target Synonyms

POLR2F; POLRF; DNA-directed RNA polymerases I; II; and III subunit RPABC2; RNA polymerases I; II; and III subunit ABC2; DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit F; DNA-directed RNA polymerases I; II; and III 14.4 kDa polypeptide; RPABC14.4; RPB14.4; RPB6 homolog; RPC15

  • Target Background

This gene encodes the sixth largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, the polymerase responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA in eukaryotes. In yeast, this polymerase subunit, in combination with at least two other subunits, forms a structure that stabilizes the transcribing polymerase on the DNA template. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
