In the process of expressing the recombinant Human HTR1D protein, mammalian cells are transfected with a DNA expression vector that carries the gene encoding the desired protein (1-38aa). The cells are then cultured to induce the expression of the intended protein. The protein features a C-terminal hFc tag fusion. The recombinant Human HTR1D protein is collected and purified from the cell lysate through affinity purification, with its purity surpassing 90%, as assessed by SDS-PAGE.

Target Name
HTR1D
Target Full Name
5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1D
Target Function
G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). Also functions as a receptor for ergot alkaloid derivatives, various anxiolytic and antidepressant drugs and other psychoactive substances. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Signaling inhibits adenylate cyclase activity. Regulates the release of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the brain, and thereby affects neural activity. May also play a role in regulating the release of other neurotransmitters. May play a role in vasoconstriction.
Target Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Target Tissue Specificity
Detected in brain neocortex and caudate nucleus (at protein level).

Target Synonyms
HTR1D; HTR1DA; HTRL; 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1D; 5-HT-1D; 5-HT1D; Serotonin 1D alpha receptor; 5-HT-1D-alpha; Serotonin receptor 1D
Target Background
Enables G protein-coupled serotonin receptor activity. Involved in adenylate cyclase-inhibiting G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway and intestine smooth muscle contraction. Is integral component of plasma membrane.
