The expression of the recombinant Human CXCL2 protein entails introducing a DNA expression vector containing the gene for the desired protein (35-107aa) into e.coli cells through transformation. Subsequently, the cells are cultured to facilitate the expression of the intended protein. The protein features a N-terminal 10xHis-GST tag and C-terminal Myc tag fusion. The resulting recombinant Human CXCL2 protein is then gathered and purified from the cell lysate using affinity purification. Its purity, determined by SDS-PAGE, exceeds 85%.

Target Background
This antimicrobial gene is part of a chemokine superfamily that encodes secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of the N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine, a member of the CXC subfamily, is expressed at sites of inflammation and may suppress hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation.
