Rabbit anti-Human NFIL3 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against NFIL3 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 133-462 of human NFIL3 (NP_005375.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q16649

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    NFIL3

  • Target Full Name

    Nuclear factor interleukin-3-regulated protein

  • Target Function

Acts as a transcriptional regulator that recognizes and binds to the sequence 5'-[GA]TTA[CT]GTAA[CT]-3', a sequence present in many cellular and viral promoters. Represses transcription from promoters with activating transcription factor (ATF) sites. Represses promoter activity in osteoblasts. Represses transcriptional activity of PER1. Represses transcriptional activity of PER2 via the B-site on the promoter. Activates transcription from the interleukin-3 promoter in T-cells. Competes for the same consensus-binding site with PAR DNA-binding factors (DBP, HLF and TEF). Component of the circadian clock that acts as a negative regulator for the circadian expression of PER2 oscillation in the cell-autonomous core clock. Protects pro-B cells from programmed cell death. Represses the transcription of CYP2A5. Positively regulates the expression and activity of CES2 by antagonizing the repressive action of NR1D1 on CES2. Required for the development of natural killer cell precursors.

  • Target Protein Families

    BZIP family, NFIL3 subfamily

    E4 promoter binding protein 4; E4 promoter-binding protein 4; E4BP 4; E4BP4; E4BP4 protein; IL3BP 1; IL3BP1; Interleukin 3 binding protein 1 ; Interleukin 3 promoter transcriptional activator; Interleukin-3 promoter transcriptional activator; Interleukin-3-binding protein 1; NFIL 3; NFIL 3A; NFIL3; NFIL3_HUMAN; NFIL3A; Nuclear factor interleukin 3 regulated; Nuclear factor interleukin-3-regulated protein; Transcriptional activator NF IL3A; Transcriptional activator NF-IL3A

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional regulator that binds as a homodimer to activating transcription factor (ATF) sites in many cellular and viral promoters. The encoded protein represses PER1 and PER2 expression and therefore plays a role in the regulation of circadian rhythm. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
