The antibody against CD34 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 32-290 of human CD34 (NP_001020280.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Target Name
CD34
Target Full Name
Hematopoietic progenitor cell antigen CD34
Target Function
Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins.
Target Subcellular Location
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
CD34 family
Target Tissue Specificity
Selectively expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and the small vessel endothelium of a variety of tissues.
Target Synonyms
CD34; Hematopoietic progenitor cell antigen CD34; CD antigen CD34
Target Background
The protein encoded by this gene may play a role in the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or to stromal cells. This single-pass membrane protein is highly glycosylated and phosphorylated by protein kinase C. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
