Rabbit anti-Human GP2 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against GP2 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 111-387 of human GP2 (NP_001007243.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P55259

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    GP2

  • Target Full Name

Pancreatic secretory granule membrane major glycoprotein GP2

  • Target Function

Functions as an intestinal M-cells transcytotic receptor specific of type-I-piliated bacteria that participate in the mucosal immune response toward these bacteria. At the apical membrane of M-cells binds fimH, a protein of the bacteria type I pilus tip. Internalizes bound bacteria, like E.coli and S.typhimurium, from the lumen of the intestine and delivers them, through M-cells, to the underlying organized lymphoid follicles where they are captured by antigen-presenting dendritic cells to ellicit a mucosal immune response.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Zymogen granule membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Secreted. Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Apical cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Membrane raft; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Endosome.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in pancreas (at protein level). Specifically expressed by M (microfold) cells which are atypical epithelial cells of the intestine (at protein level).

  • Target Synonyms

DKFZp779K0533; Glycoprotein 2 (zymogen granule membrane); GP2; GP2_HUMAN; Pancreatic secretory granule membrane major glycoprotein GP2; Pancreatic zymogen granule membrane associated protein GP2; Pancreatic zymogen granule membrane protein GP-2; ZAP75
