The antibody against NDUFA8 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 33-172 of human NDUFA8 (NP_055037.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, IP, ELISA.

Target Name
NDUFA8
Target Full Name
NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] 1 alpha subcomplex subunit 8
Target Function
Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed not to be involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone.
Target Subcellular Location
Mitochondrion inner membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Mitochondrion intermembrane space. Mitochondrion.
Target Protein Families
Complex I NDUFA8 subunit family

Target Background
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the complex I 19 kDa subunit family. Mammalian complex I is composed of 45 different subunits. This protein has NADH dehydrogenase activity and oxidoreductase activity. It plays an important role in transfering electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
