The recombinant Human FABP4 protein production is achieved through the manipulation of desired gene expression in e.coli cells. The sequence (2-132aa) of foreign DNA is fused to an expression vector and then transformed into e.coli cells. The positive cells are selected and cultured to induce the expression of the desired protein. A N-terminal 6xHis tag is fused to the protein. The recombinant Human FABP4 protein is subjected to affinity purification. Its purity is over 90%, as measured by SDS-PAGE.

Target Background
FABP4 encodes the fatty acid binding protein found in adipocytes. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. It is thought that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism.
