The production of recombinant Human P2RY1 protein involves manipulating the expression of the desired gene in e.coli cells. The sequence (326-373aa) of foreign DNA is merged with an expression vector and subsequently introduced into e.coli cells. Positive cells are chosen and cultivated to induce the expression of the desired protein. A C-terminal 6xHis tag is fused to the protein. The resulting recombinant Human P2RY1 protein undergoes purification through affinity purification, with a purity exceeding 90%, as confirmed by SDS-PAGE.

Target Species
Human
Target Name
P2RY1
Target Full Name
P2Y purinoceptor 1
Target Function
Receptor for extracellular adenine nucleotides such as ADP. In platelets, binding to ADP leads to mobilization of intracellular calcium ions via activation of phospholipase C, a change in platelet shape, and ultimately platelet aggregation.
Target Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Target Research Area
Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling
Target Synonyms
P2RY1; P2Y purinoceptor 1; P2Y1; ADP receptor; Purinergic receptor
Target Background
The product of this gene belongs to the family of G-protein coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. This receptor functions as a receptor for extracellular ATP and ADP. In platelets binding to ADP leads to mobilization of intracellular calcium ions via activation of phospholipase C, a change in platelet shape, and probably to platelet aggregation.
