Rabbit anti-Human JAK1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against JAK1 was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 30-300 of human JAK1 (NP_002218.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Immunogen DescriptionA synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 30-300 of human JAK1 (NP_002218.2).Target SpeciesHuman
Uniprot IDP23458Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P23458

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    JAK1

  • Target Full Name

    Tyrosine-protein kinase JAK1

  • Target Function

Tyrosine kinase of the non-receptor type, involved in the IFN-alpha/beta/gamma signal pathway. Kinase partner for the interleukin (IL)-2 receptor as well as interleukin (IL)-10 receptor. Directly phosphorylates STAT but also activates STAT signaling through the transactivation of other JAK kinases associated with signaling receptors.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Endomembrane system; Peripheral membrane protein. Note=Wholly intracellular, possibly membrane associated.

  • Target Protein Families

Protein kinase superfamily, Tyr protein kinase family, JAK subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed at higher levels in primary colon tumors than in normal colon tissue. The expression level in metastatic colon tumors is comparable to the expression level in normal colon tissue.

  • Target Research Area

    Cancer

  • Target Synonyms

    JAK 1; JAK 1A; JAK 1B; JAK-1; JAK1; JAK1_HUMAN; JAK1A; JAK1B; Janus kinase 1 (a protein tyrosine kinase); Janus kinase 1; JTK3; Tyrosine protein kinase JAK 1; Tyrosine protein kinase JAK1; Tyrosine-protein kinase JAK1

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a membrane protein that is a member of a class of protein-tyrosine kinases (PTK) characterized by the presence of a second phosphotransferase-related domain immediately N-terminal to the PTK domain. The encoded kinase phosphorylates STAT proteins (signal transducers and activators of transcription) and plays a key role in interferon-alpha/beta, interferon-gamma, and cytokine signal transduction. This gene plays a crucial role in effecting the expression of genes that mediate inflammation, epithelial remodeling, and metastatic cancer progression. This gene is a key component of the interleukin-6 (IL-6)/JAK1/STAT3 immune and inflammation response and is a therapeutic target for alleviating cytokine storms. The kinase activity of this gene is directly inhibited by the suppressor of cytokine signalling 1 (SOCS1) protein. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
