The antibody against PLEK2 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-250 of human PLEK2 (NP_057529.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
PLEK2
Target Full Name
Pleckstrin-2
Target Function
May help orchestrate cytoskeletal arrangement. Contribute to lamellipodia formation.
Target Subcellular Location
Cell projection, lamellipodium membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.
Target Synonyms
Pleckstrin 2 (mouse) homolog; Pleckstrin 2; Pleckstrin-2; PLEK 2; PLEK2; PLEK2_HUMAN
Target Background
The protein encoded by this gene associates with membrane-bound phosphatidylinositols generated by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. The encoded protein then interacts with the actin cytoskeleton to induce cell spreading. In conjunction with complement component 1, q subcomponent, B chain (C1QB), this gene shows an increase in expression in melanoma cells and may serve as an accurate biomarker for the disease.
