Rabbit anti-Human TPI1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against TPI1 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-249 of human TPI1 (NP_000356.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Immunogen Information

Immunogen DescriptionRecombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-249 of human TPI1 (NP_000356.1).Target SpeciesHuman
Uniprot IDP60174Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P60174

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    TPI1

  • Target Full Name

    Triosephosphate isomerase

  • Target Function

Triosephosphate isomerase is an extremely efficient metabolic enzyme that catalyzes the interconversion between dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P) in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis.; It is also responsible for the non-negligible production of methylglyoxal a reactive cytotoxic side-product that modifies and can alter proteins, DNA and lipids.

  • Target Involvement

    Triosephosphate isomerase deficiency (TPID)

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Cytoplasm.

  • Target Protein Families

    Triosephosphate isomerase family

  • Target Synonyms

TPI1; TPI; Triosephosphate isomerase; TIM; EC 5.3.1.1; Methylglyoxal synthase; EC 4.2.3.3; Triose-phosphate isomerase

  • Target Background

This gene encodes an enzyme, consisting of two identical proteins, which catalyzes the isomerization of glyceraldehydes 3-phosphate (G3P) and dihydroxy-acetone phosphate (DHAP) in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with triosephosphate isomerase deficiency. Pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 1, 4, 6 and 7. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
