Rabbit anti-Human AGPAT5 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against AGPAT5 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 120-320 of human AGPAT5 (NP_060831.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Immunogen Information

Immunogen DescriptionRecombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 120-320 of human AGPAT5 (NP_060831.2).Target SpeciesHuman
Uniprot IDQ9NUQ2Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q9NUQ2

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    AGPAT5

  • Target Full Name

    1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase epsilon

  • Target Function

Converts 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate (lysophosphatidic acid or LPA) into 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate (phosphatidic acid or PA) by incorporating an acyl moiety at the sn-2 position of the glycerol backbone. Acts on LPA containing saturated or unsaturated fatty acids C15:0-C20:4 at the sn-1 position using C18:1-CoA as the acyl donor. Also acts on lysophosphatidylethanolamine using oleoyl-CoA, but not arachidonoyl-CoA, and lysophosphatidylinositol using arachidonoyl-CoA, but not oleoyl-CoA. Activity toward lysophosphatidylglycerol not detectable.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Nucleus envelope. Mitochondrion.

  • Target Protein Families

    1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase family

  • Target Tissue Specificity

    Widely expressed.

  • Target Synonyms

    AGPAT5; 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase epsilon; 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 5; 1-AGP acyltransferase 5; 1-AGPAT 5; Lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase epsilon; LPAAT-epsilon

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a member of the 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase family. This integral membrane protein converts lysophosphatidic acid to phosphatidic acid, the second step in de novo phospholipid biosynthesis. A pseudogene of this gene is present on the Y chromosome.
