Rabbit anti-Human CHKA Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against CHKA was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-170 of human CHKA (NP_001268.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P35790

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    CHKA

  • Target Full Name

    Choline kinase alpha

  • Target Function

Has a key role in phospholipid biosynthesis and may contribute to tumor cell growth. Catalyzes the first step in phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis. Contributes to phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthesis. Phosphorylates choline and ethanolamine. Has higher activity with choline.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Cytoplasm.

  • Target Protein Families

    Choline/ethanolamine kinase family

  • Target Synonyms

CHKA; CHK; CKI; Choline kinase alpha; CK; EC 2.7.1.32; CHETK-alpha; Ethanolamine kinase; EK; EC 2.7.1.82

  • Target Background

The major pathway for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine occurs via the CDP-choline pathway. The protein encoded by this gene is the initial enzyme in the sequence and may play a regulatory role. The encoded protein also catalyzes the phosphorylation of ethanolamine. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
