Rabbit anti-Human GNA13 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against GNA13 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-377 of human GNA13 (NP_006563.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on IHC-P.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q14344

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    GNA13

  • Target Full Name

    Guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit alpha-13

  • Target Function

Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) are involved as modulators or transducers in various transmembrane signaling systems. Activates effector molecule RhoA by binding and activating RhoGEFs (ARHGEF1/p115RhoGEF, ARHGEF11/PDZ-RhoGEF and ARHGEF12/LARG). GNA13-dependent Rho signaling subsequently regulates transcription factor AP-1 (activating protein-1). Promotes tumor cell invasion and metastasis by activating RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway. Inhibits CDH1-mediated cell adhesion in process independent from Rho activation.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor. Melanosome. Cytoplasm. Nucleus.

  • Target Protein Families

    G-alpha family, G(12) subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in testis, including in Leydig cells and in the seminiferous epithelium, in differentiating cells from the spermatogonia to mature spermatozoa stages and round spermatids (at protein level). Expressed in 99.2% of spermatozoa from healthy individ

  • Target Background

Predicted to enable D5 dopamine receptor binding activity; G-protein beta/gamma-subunit complex binding activity; and GTPase activity. Predicted to be involved in several processes, including Rho protein signal transduction; activation of phospholipase D activity; and multicellular organism aging. Predicted to act upstream of or within several processes, including branching involved in blood vessel morphogenesis; negative regulation of vascular associated smooth muscle cell migration; and negative regulation of vascular associated smooth muscle cell proliferation. Located in cytosol and nucleus.
