Rabbit anti-Human OLFM4 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against OLFM4 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 211-510 of human OLFM4 (NP_006409.3) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q6UX06

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    OLFM4

  • Target Full Name

    Olfactomedin-4

  • Target Function

May promote proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells by favoring the transition from the S to G2/M phase. In myeloid leukemic cell lines, inhibits cell growth and induces cell differentiation and apoptosis. May play a role in the inhibition of EIF4EBP1 phosphorylation/deactivation. Facilitates cell adhesion, most probably through interaction with cell surface lectins and cadherin.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Secreted, extracellular space. Mitochondrion.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed during myeloid lineage development. Much higher expression in bone marrow neutrophils than in peripheral blood neutrophils (at protein level). Strongly expressed in the prostate, small intestine and colon and moderately expressed in the bone mar

  • Target Synonyms

    Antiapoptotic protein GW112; bA209J19.1; G-CSF-stimulated clone 1 protein; GC1; GW112; hGC 1; hGC-1; hOLfD; KIAA4294; olfactomedin 4; Olfactomedin-4; OlfD; OLFM4; OLFM4_HUMAN; OLM4; UNQ362

  • Target Background

This gene was originally cloned from human myeloblasts and found to be selectively expressed in inflammed colonic epithelium. This gene encodes a member of the olfactomedin family. The encoded protein is an antiapoptotic factor that promotes tumor growth and is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that facilitates cell adhesion.
