Recombinant Human CD48 antigen (CD48)

The Recombinant Human CD48 protein is a valuable resource for investigating immune responses and lymphocyte activation. CD48 antigen, also known as B-lymphocyte activation marker BLAST-1 or BCM1 surface antigen, plays a pivotal role in immune cell signaling and adhesion processes. This product features a full-length mature CD48 protein (27-220aa) expressed in yeast, ensuring optimal protein folding and post-translational modifications. Our CD48 protein is equipped with an N-terminal hFc tag for effective protein purification and detection, as well as enabling functional studies involving Fc receptor interactions. With a purity greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE, the Recombinant Human CD48 protein provides a high-quality reagent for your immunology research. Available in either liquid or lyophilized powder form, our CD48 protein is designed to accommodate your experimental requirements.

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a member of the CD2 subfamily of immunoglobulin-like receptors which includes SLAM (signaling lymphocyte activation molecules) proteins. The encoded protein is found on the surface of lymphocytes and other immune cells, dendritic cells and endothelial cells, and participates in activation and differentiation pathways in these cells. The encoded protein does not have a transmembrane domain, however, but is held at the cell surface by a GPI anchor via a C-terminal domain which maybe cleaved to yield a soluble form of the receptor. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
