Empower your research in signal transduction with our Recombinant Human FGF19 protein, a critical player in regulating cellular proliferation, differentiation, and metabolism. Fibroblast growth factor 19 is known to exert its functions through interactions with FGFR and heparan sulfate proteoglycans, modulating a wide range of biological activities and pathways. This Recombinant Human FGF19 protein is produced in an E.coli expression system and features a partial protein sequence (32-216aa). It is equipped with an N-terminal GST-tag to facilitate purification and tracking during experimentation. Our protein exhibits a purity of greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE, ensuring a high-quality product for your research needs. Choose between liquid or lyophilized powder formats to best accommodate your laboratory workflow and experimental requirements.

Target Full Name
Fibroblast growth factor 19
Target Function
Involved in the suppression of bile acid biosynthesis through down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, following positive regulation of the JNK and ERK1/2 cascades. Stimulates glucose uptake in adipocytes. Activity requires the presence of KLB and FGFR4.
Target Subcellular Location
Secreted.
Target Protein Families
Heparin-binding growth factors family
Target Tissue Specificity
Expressed in fetal brain, cartilage, retina, and adult gall bladder.
Target Research Area
Signal Transduction
Target Synonyms
FGF 19; FGF-19; FGF15; FGF19; FGF19_HUMAN; Fibroblast growth factor 15; Fibroblast growth factor 19
Target Background
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This growth factor is a high affinity, heparin dependent ligand for FGFR4. Expression of this gene was detected only in fetal but not adult brain tissue. Synergistic interaction of the chick homolog and Wnt-8c has been shown to be required for initiation of inner ear development.
