The antibody against MRRF was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 163-262 of human MRRF (Q96E11) as the immunogen. The monoclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Ribosome-recycling factor, mitochondrial
Target Function
Responsible for the release of ribosomes from messenger RNA at the termination of protein biosynthesis. May increase the efficiency of translation by recycling ribosomes from one round of translation to another.
Target Subcellular Location
Mitochondrion.

Target Background
This gene encodes a ribosome recycling factor, which is a component of the mitochondrial translational machinery. The encoded protein, along with mitochondrial elongation factor 2, functions in ribosomal recycling at the termination of mitochondrial translation by mediating the disassembly of ribosomes from messenger RNA. A pseudogene of this gene has been identified on chromosome X.
