Rabbit anti-Mouse CD163 Monoclonal Antibody

The antibody against CD163 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 39-260 of mouse CD163 (NP_444324.2) as the immunogen. The monoclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Immunogen Information

Immunogen DescriptionRecombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 39-260 of mouse CD163 (NP_444324.2).Target SpeciesMouse
Uniprot IDQ2VLH6Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q2VLH6

  • Target Species

    Mouse

  • Target Name

    CD163

  • Target Full Name

    Scavenger receptor cysteine-rich type 1 protein M130

  • Target Function

Involved in clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes by macrophages and may thereby protect tissues from free hemoglobin-mediated oxidative damage. May play a role in the uptake and recycling of iron, via endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin and subsequent breakdown of heme. Binds hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes in a calcium-dependent and pH-dependent manner. Induces a cascade of intracellular signals that involves tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production and secretion of IL6 and CSF1.; After shedding, the soluble form (sCD163) may play an anti-inflammatory role.

  • Target Subcellular Location

[Soluble CD163]: Secreted.; Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in monocytes and mature macrophages such as Kupffer cells in the liver, red pulp macrophages in the spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes.

  • Target Synonyms

    CD163v2; CD163v3; M130

  • Target Background

Predicted to enable scaffold protein binding activity and scavenger receptor activity. Predicted to act upstream of or within acute-phase response. Predicted to be located in plasma membrane. Predicted to be active in external side of plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including gut; immune system; male reproductive gland or organ; olfactory lobe; and quadriceps femoris muscle. Orthologous to human CD163 (CD163 molecule).
