Rabbit anti-Human Calcineurin A Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against Calcineurin A was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-511 of human Calcineurin A (NP_001124163.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

    Q08209

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    PPP3CA

  • Target Full Name

Protein phosphatase 3 catalytic subunit alpha

  • Target Function

Calcium-dependent, calmodulin-stimulated protein phosphatase which plays an essential role in the transduction of intracellular Ca(2+)-mediated signals. Many of the substrates contain a PxIxIT motif and/or a LxVP motif. In response to increased Ca(2+) levels, dephosphorylates and activates phosphatase SSH1 which results in cofilin dephosphorylation. In response to increased Ca(2+) levels following mitochondrial depolarization, dephosphorylates DNM1L inducing DNM1L translocation to the mitochondrion. Dephosphorylates heat shock protein HSPB1. Dephosphorylates and activates transcription factor NFATC1. In response to increased Ca(2+) levels, regulates NFAT-mediated transcription probably by dephosphorylating NFAT and promoting its nuclear translocation. Dephosphorylates and inactivates transcription factor ELK1. Dephosphorylates DARPP32. May dephosphorylate CRTC2 at 'Ser-171' resulting in CRTC2 dissociation from 14-3-3 proteins. Dephosphorylates transcription factor TFEB at 'Ser-211' following Coxsackievirus B3 infection, promoting nuclear translocation.

  • Target Background

Enables several functions, including ATPase binding activity; calmodulin binding activity; and calmodulin-dependent protein phosphatase activity. Involved in several processes, including calcineurin-NFAT signaling cascade; peptidyl-serine dephosphorylation; and response to calcium ion. Located in several cellular components, including cytosol; dendritic spine; and nucleoplasm. Part of calcineurin complex. Colocalizes with cytoplasmic side of plasma membrane. Implicated in developmental and epileptic encephalopathy 91. Biomarker of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and schizophrenia.
