Rabbit anti-Human ARSG Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against ARSG was raised in rabbit using the Synthesized peptide derived from the Internal region of Human Arylsulfatase G. as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q96EG1

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    ARSG

  • Target Full Name

    Arylsulfatase G

  • Target Function

Displays arylsulfatase activity at acidic pH towards artificial substrates, such as p-nitrocatechol sulfate and also, but with a lower activity towards p-nitrophenyl sulfate and 4-methylumbelliferyl sulfate. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of the 3-sulfate groups of the N-sulfo-D-glucosamine 3-O-sulfate units of heparin.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Lysosome.

  • Target Protein Families

    Sulfatase family

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Widely expressed, with very low expression in brain, lung, heart and skeletal muscle.

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the sulfatase enzyme family. Sulfatases hydrolyze sulfate esters from sulfated steroids, carbohydrates, proteoglycans, and glycolipids. They are involved in hormone biosynthesis, modulation of cell signaling, and degradation of macromolecules. This protein displays arylsulfatase activity at acidic pH, as is typical of lysosomal sulfatases, and has been shown to localize in the lysosomes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
