The antibody against BRAT1 was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human BRCA1-associated ATM activator 1 protein (603-821AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, WB, IHC.

Target Name
BRAT1
Target Full Name
BRCA1-associated ATM activator 1
Target Function
Involved in DNA damage response; activates kinases ATM, SMC1A and PRKDC by modulating their phosphorylation status following ionizing radiation (IR) stress. Plays a role in regulating mitochondrial function and cell proliferation. Required for protein stability of MTOR and MTOR-related proteins, and cell cycle progress by growth factors.
Target Involvement
Rigidity and multifocal seizure syndrome, lethal neonatal (RMFSL)
Target Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Cytoplasm.
Target Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitously expressed.

Target Background
The protein encoded by this ubiquitously expressed gene interacts with the tumor suppressing BRCA1 (breast cancer 1) protein and and the ATM (ataxia telangiectasia mutated) protein. ATM is thought to be a master controller of cell cycle checkpoint signalling pathways that are required for cellular responses to DNA damage such as double-strand breaks that are induced by ionizing radiation and complexes with BRCA1 in the multi-protein complex BASC (BRAC1-associated genome surveillance complex). The protein encoded by this gene is thought to play a role in the DNA damage pathway regulated by BRCA1 and ATM.
