The antibody against NEK9 was raised in rabbit using the Synthesized peptide derived from Human Nek9 around the non-phosphorylation site of T210. as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF, ELISA.

Target Name
NEK9
Target Full Name
Serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek9
Target Function
Pleiotropic regulator of mitotic progression, participating in the control of spindle dynamics and chromosome separation. Phosphorylates different histones, myelin basic protein, beta-casein, and BICD2. Phosphorylates histone H3 on serine and threonine residues and beta-casein on serine residues. Important for G1/S transition and S phase progression. Phosphorylates NEK6 and NEK7 and stimulates their activity by releasing the autoinhibitory functions of Tyr-108 and Tyr-97 respectively.
Target Involvement
Lethal congenital contracture syndrome 10 (LCCS10); Nevus comedonicus (NC); Arthrogryposis, Perthes disease, and upward gaze palsy (APUG)
Target Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Nucleus.
Target Protein Families
Protein kinase superfamily, NEK Ser/Thr protein kinase family, NIMA subfamily
Target Tissue Specificity
Most abundant in heart, liver, kidney and testis. Also expressed in smooth muscle cells and fibroblasts.

Target Background
This gene encodes a member of the NimA (never in mitosis A) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. The encoded protein is activated in mitosis and, in turn, activates other family members during mitosis. This protein also mediates cellular processes that are essential for interphase progression.
