Rabbit anti-Human SPTBN1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against SPTBN1 was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human Spectrin beta chain, non-erythrocytic 1 protein (2096-2256AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, IHC, IF.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q01082

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    SPTBN1

  • Target Full Name

    Spectrin beta chain, non-erythrocytic 1

  • Target Function

Fodrin, which seems to be involved in secretion, interacts with calmodulin in a calcium-dependent manner and is thus candidate for the calcium-dependent movement of the cytoskeleton at the membrane.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Cytoplasm, myofibril, sarcomere, M line.; [Isoform 2]: Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side.

  • Target Protein Families

    Spectrin family

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Isoform 2 is present in brain, lung and kidney (at protein level).

  • Target Synonyms

    ELF; SPTB2; DDISBA; HEL102; betaSpII; SPTBN1

  • Target Background

Spectrin is an actin crosslinking and molecular scaffold protein that links the plasma membrane to the actin cytoskeleton, and functions in the determination of cell shape, arrangement of transmembrane proteins, and organization of organelles. It is composed of two antiparallel dimers of alpha- and beta- subunits. This gene is one member of a family of beta-spectrin genes. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal actin-binding domain, and 17 spectrin repeats which are involved in dimer formation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
