Rabbit anti-Human KCNN4 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against KCNN4 was raised in rabbit using the Synthesized peptide derived from the C-terminal region of Human IK1. as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    O15554

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    KCNN4

  • Target Full Name

Intermediate conductance calcium-activated potassium channel protein 4

  • Target Function

Forms a voltage-independent potassium channel that is activated by intracellular calcium. Activation is followed by membrane hyperpolarization which promotes calcium influx. Required for maximal calcium influx and proliferation during the reactivation of naive T-cells. Plays a role in the late stages of EGF-induced macropinocytosis.

  • Target Involvement

    Dehydrated hereditary stomatocytosis 2 (DHS2)

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

  • Target Protein Families

Potassium channel KCNN family, KCa3.1/KCNN4 subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

    Widely expressed in non-excitable tissues.

  • Target Synonyms

    KCNN4; IK1; IKCA1; KCA4; SK4; Intermediate conductance calcium-activated potassium channel protein 4; SKCa 4; SKCa4; IKCa1; KCa3.1; KCa4; Putative Gardos channel

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene is part of a potentially heterotetrameric voltage-independent potassium channel that is activated by intracellular calcium. Activation is followed by membrane hyperpolarization, which promotes calcium influx. The encoded protein may be part of the predominant calcium-activated potassium channel in T-lymphocytes. This gene is similar to other KCNN family potassium channel genes, but it differs enough to possibly be considered as part of a new subfamily.
