Rabbit anti-Human CYP4B1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against CYP4B1 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 30-250 of human CYP4B1 (NP_001093242.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P13584

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    CYP4B1

  • Target Full Name

    Cytochrome P450 4B1

  • Target Function

Cytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Microsome membrane; Peripheral membrane protein.

  • Target Protein Families

    Cytochrome P450 family

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Detected in the liver and lung (at protein level).

  • Target Synonyms

    CP4B1_HUMAN; CYP4B1; CYPIVB1; Cytochrome P450 4B1; Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily B polypeptide 1; Cytochrome P450 subfamily IVB polypeptide 1; Cytochrome P450-HP; Microsomal monooxygenase; P450HP

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. In rodents, the homologous protein has been shown to metabolize certain carcinogens; however, the specific function of the human protein has not been determined. Multiple transcript variants have been found for this gene.
