The antibody against DRD2 was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1-100 of human DRD2 (NP_000786.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
DRD2
Target Full Name
D(2) dopamine receptor
Target Function
Dopamine receptor whose activity is mediated by G proteins which inhibit adenylyl cyclase. Positively regulates postnatal regression of retinal hyaloid vessels via suppression of VEGFR2/KDR activity, downstream of OPN5.
Target Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Golgi apparatus membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Target Tissue Specificity
[Isoform 1]: Expressed in the anterior pituitary gland.; [Isoform 2]: Expressed in the anterior pituitary gland.
Target Research Area
G-protein coupled receptor, Receptor, Transducer
Target Synonyms
DRD2; D(2 dopamine receptor; Dopamine D2 receptor
Target Background
This gene encodes the D2 subtype of the dopamine receptor. This G-protein coupled receptor inhibits adenylyl cyclase activity. A missense mutation in this gene causes myoclonus dystonia; other mutations have been associated with schizophrenia. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. A third variant has been described, but it has not been determined whether this form is normal or due to aberrant splicing.
