The antibody against GBP2 was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human Guanylate-binding protein 2 protein (100-259AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, IHC, IF.

Target Name
GBP2
Target Full Name
Guanylate-binding protein 2
Target Function
Hydrolyzes GTP to GMP in 2 consecutive cleavage reactions, but the major reaction product is GDP. Exhibits antiviral activity against influenza virus. Promotes oxidative killing and delivers antimicrobial peptides to autophagolysosomes, providing broad host protection against different pathogen classes.
Target Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Golgi apparatus membrane. Membrane; Lipid-anchor.
Target Protein Families
TRAFAC class dynamin-like GTPase superfamily, GB1/RHD3-type GTPase family, GB1 subfamily
Target Research Area
Immunology
Target Synonyms
GBP2Guanylate-binding protein 2; EC 3.6.5.-; GTP-binding protein 2; GBP-2; HuGBP-2; Guanine nucleotide-binding protein 2; Interferon-induced guanylate-binding protein 2
Target Background
This gene belongs to the guanine-binding protein (GBP) family, which includes interferon-induced proteins that can bind to guanine nucleotides (GMP, GDP and GTP). The encoded protein is a GTPase which hydrolyzes GTP, predominantly to GDP. The protein may play a role as a marker of squamous cell carcinomas.
