Rabbit anti-Human PRLR Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against PRLR was raised in rabbit using the Peptide sequence around aa.25~29 (Q-L-P-P-G) derived from Human PRLR as the immunogen. Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic peptide and KLH conjugates. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific peptide. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, WB.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P16471

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    PRLR

  • Target Full Name

    Prolactin receptor

  • Target Function

This is a receptor for the anterior pituitary hormone prolactin (PRL). Acts as a prosurvival factor for spermatozoa by inhibiting sperm capacitation through suppression of SRC kinase activation and stimulation of AKT. Isoform 4 is unable to transduce prolactin signaling. Isoform 6 is unable to transduce prolactin signaling.

  • Target Involvement

Multiple fibroadenomas of the breast (MFAB); Hyperprolactinemia (HPRL)

  • Target Subcellular Location

Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.; [Isoform 7]: Secreted.

  • Target Protein Families

Type I cytokine receptor family, Type 1 subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in breast, placenta, kidney, liver and pancreas.

  • Target Synonyms

    PRLR; Prolactin receptor; PRL-R

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a receptor for the anterior pituitary hormone, prolactin, and belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Prolactin-dependent signaling occurs as the result of ligand-induced dimerization of the prolactin receptor. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different membrane-bound and soluble isoforms have been described for this gene, which may function to modulate the endocrine and autocrine effects of prolactin in normal tissue and cancer.
