Rabbit anti-Human TMEM119 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against TMEM119 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 160-270 of human TMEM119 (NP_859075.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q4V9L6

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    TMEM119

  • Target Full Name

    Transmembrane protein 119

  • Target Function

Plays an important role in bone formation and normal bone mineralization. Promotes the differentiation of myoblasts into osteoblasts. May induce the commitment and differentiation of myoblasts into osteoblasts through an enhancement of BMP2 production and interaction with the BMP-RUNX2 pathway. Upregulates the expression of ATF4, a transcription factor which plays a central role in osteoblast differentiation. Essential for normal spermatogenesis and late testicular differentiation.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Cytoplasm. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in brain microglia (at protein level). Elevated expression levels seen in the brain of patients with Alzheimer disease. Expressed by osteoblast-like cells in bone tissues and follicular dendritic cells in lymphoid tissues.

  • Target Research Area

    Others

  • Target Synonyms

TMEM119; PSEC0199; UNQ731/PRO1415; Transmembrane protein 119; Osteoblast induction factor; OBIF
