Recombinant Human Ribonuclease 7 (RNASE7)

The expression of recombinant Human RNASE7 protein involves transfecting e.coli cells with a DNA expression vector carrying the gene for the protein of interest (29-156aa). After transfection, the cells are cultured to produce the desired protein. A N-terminal 6xHis tag is fused to the protein. The recombinant Human RNASE7 protein is collected and purified from the cell lysate through affinity purification, attaining a purity greater than 85%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q9H1E1

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    RNASE7

  • Target Full Name

    Ribonuclease 7

  • Target Function

Exhibits a potent RNase activity. Has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against many pathogenic microorganisms and remarkably potent activity (lethal dose of 90% < 30 nM) against a vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium. Causes loss of bacterial membrane integrity. Probably contributes to urinary tract sterility. Bactericidal activity is independent of RNase activity.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Secreted.

  • Target Protein Families

    Pancreatic ribonuclease family

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in collecting ducts in kidney, and in apical uroepithelium in bladder (at protein level). Expressed in various epithelial tissues including skin, respiratory tract, genito-urinary tract and, at a low level, in the gut. Expressed in liver, kidney

  • Target Research Area

    Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling
