Rabbit anti-Human MCAT Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against MCAT was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human Malonyl-CoA-acyl carrier protein transacylase, mitochondrial protein (22-117AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, WB, IHC.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q8IVS2

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    MCAT

  • Target Full Name

    Malonyl-CoA-acyl carrier protein transacylase, mitochondrial

  • Target Function

Catalyzes the transfer of a malonyl moiety from malonyl-CoA to the free thiol group of the phosphopantetheine arm of the mitochondrial ACP protein (NDUFAB1). This suggests the existence of the biosynthesis of fatty acids in mitochondria.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Mitochondrion.

  • Target Protein Families

    Type II malonyltransferase family

  • Target Synonyms

[Acyl-carrier-protein] malonyltransferase; FabD; FABD_HUMAN; FASN 2C; FASN2C; Malonyl CoA acyl carrier protein transacylase; Malonyl CoA acyl carrier protein transacylase mitochondrial; Malonyl CoA:ACP acyltransferase (mitochondrial); Malonyl CoA:ACP acyltransferase; Malonyl CoA:acyl carrier protein transacylase mitochondrial; Malonyl-CoA-acyl carrier protein transacylase; Mcat; MCT; MCT1; MGC47838; mitochondrial; Mitochondrial malonyl CoA:ACP acyltransferase; Mitochondrial malonyltransferase; NET62

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene is found exclusively in the mitochondrion, where it catalyzes the transfer of a malonyl group from malonyl-CoA to the mitochondrial acyl carrier protein. The encoded protein may be part of a fatty acid synthase complex that is more like the type II prokaryotic and plastid complexes rather than the type I human cytosolic complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
