Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q9BUP3

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    HTATIP2

  • Target Full Name

    Oxidoreductase HTATIP2

  • Target Function

Oxidoreductase required for tumor suppression. NAPDH-bound form inhibits nuclear import by competing with nuclear import substrates for binding to a subset of nuclear transport receptors. May act as a redox sensor linked to transcription through regulation of nuclear import. Isoform 1 is a metastasis suppressor with proapoptotic as well as antiangiogenic properties. Isoform 2 has an antiapoptotic effect.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Cytoplasm. Nucleus envelope.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Ubiquitous. Highest level in liver. High levels in lung, skeletal muscle, pancreas and placenta. Moderate levels in heart and kidney. Low levels in brain. Not expressed or low levels in variant small cell lung carcinomas, 33% of hepatocellular carcinomas

  • Target Synonyms

    30 kDa HIV 1 TAT interacting protein; 30 kDa HIV-1 TAT-interacting protein; 30 kDa HIV1 TAT interacting protein; CC3; FLJ26963; HIV 1 Tat interacting protein 2 30kDa; HIV 1 Tat interacting protein 2; HIV-1 TAT-interactive protein 2; HTAI2_HUMAN; HTATIP 2; HTATIP2; Oxidoreductase HTATIP2; SDR44U1; Short chain dehydrogenase/reductase family 44U member 1; Tat interacting protein (30kDa)

  • Target Background

Enables protein serine/threonine kinase activity. Involved in import into nucleus and regulation of angiogenesis. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of programmed cell death; positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and protein autophosphorylation. Located in cytosol and nuclear envelope.
