Target Species
Human
Target Name
PPIL4
Target Full Name
Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase-like 4
Target Function
PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides.
Target Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Target Protein Families
Cyclophilin-type PPIase family, PPIL4 subfamily
Target Tissue Specificity
Abundantly expressed in kidney but has a ubiquitously low expression pattern in other adult tissues.
Target Research Area
Signal Transduction
Target Synonyms
Cyclophilin type peptidyl prolyl cis trans isomerase; Cyclophilin-like protein PPIL4; HDCME13P; Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase-like 4; Peptidylprolyl isomerase (cyclophilin) like 4; Peptidylprolyl Isomerase Like 4; PPIase; Ppil4; PPIL4_HUMAN; Rotamase; Rotamase PPIL4; serologically defined breast cancer antigen NY-BR-18
Target Background
This gene is a member of the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases. The cyclophilins are a highly conserved family, members of which play an important role in protein folding, immunosuppression by cyclosporin A, and infection of HIV-1 virions.
