The antibody against S was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Escherichia phage lambda (Bacteriophage lambda) S protein (1-37aa) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, Affinity-chromatography purified. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, WB.

Target Species
Escherichia phage lambda
Target Name
S
Target Function
Accumulates harmlessly in the cytoplasmic membrane until it reaches a critical concentration that triggers the formation of micron-scale pores (holes) causing host cell membrane disruption and endolysin escape into the periplasmic space. Determines the precise timing of host cell lysis. Participates with the endolysin and spanin proteins in the sequential events which lead to the programmed host cell lysis releasing the mature viral particles from the host cell.; Counteracts the aggregation of the holin molecules and thus of pore formation.
Target Subcellular Location
Host cell inner membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
Lambdalikevirus holin family
