The antibody against SLC7A2 was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human Cationic amino acid transporter 2 protein (604-658AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, IHC.

Target Name
SLC7A2
Target Full Name
Cationic amino acid transporter 2
Target Function
Functions as permease involved in the transport of the cationic amino acids (arginine, lysine and ornithine); the affinity for its substrates differs between isoforms created by alternative splicing. Isoform 1 functions as permease that mediates the transport of the cationic amino acids (arginine, lysine and ornithine), and it has much higher affinity for arginine than isoform 2. Isoform 2 functions as low-affinity, high capacity permease involved in the transport of the cationic amino acids (arginine, lysine and ornithine). May play a role in classical or alternative activation of macrophages via its role in arginine transport.
Target Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
Amino acid-polyamine-organocation (APC) superfamily, Cationic amino acid transporter (CAT) (TC 2.A.3.3) family
Target Tissue Specificity
Expressed at high levels in the skeletal muscle, placenta and ovary. Expressed at intermediate levels in the liver and pancreas and at low levels in the kidney and heart.

Target Background
The protein encoded by this gene is a cationic amino acid transporter and a member of the APC (amino acid-polyamine-organocation) family of transporters. The encoded membrane protein is responsible for the cellular uptake of arginine, lysine and ornithine. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
