Rabbit anti-Human DPYS Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against DPYS was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 250-519 of human DPYS (NP_001376.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Immunogen Information

Immunogen DescriptionRecombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 250-519 of human DPYS (NP_001376.1).Target SpeciesHuman
Uniprot IDQ14117Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q14117

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    DPYS

  • Target Full Name

    Dihydropyrimidinase

  • Target Function

Catalyzes the second step of the reductive pyrimidine degradation, the reversible hydrolytic ring opening of dihydropyrimidines. Can catalyze the ring opening of 5,6-dihydrouracil to N-carbamyl-alanine and of 5,6-dihydrothymine to N-carbamyl-amino isobutyrate.

  • Target Involvement

    Dihydropyrimidinase deficiency (DPYSD)

  • Target Protein Families

    Metallo-dependent hydrolases superfamily, Hydantoinase/dihydropyrimidinase family

  • Target Tissue Specificity

    Liver and kidney.

  • Target Synonyms

DHP; DHPase; Dihydropyrimidinase; Dihydropyrimidine amidohydrolase; Dpys; DPYS_HUMAN; Hydantoinase

  • Target Background

Dihydropyrimidinase catalyzes the conversion of 5, 6-dihydrouracil to 3-ureidopropionate in pyrimidine metabolism. Dihydropyrimidinase is expressed at a high level in liver and kidney as a major 2.5-kb transcript and a minor 3.8-kb transcript. Defects in the DPYS gene are linked to dihydropyrimidinuria.
