The antibody against BCAS3 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 674-913 of human BCAS3 (NP_060149.3) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, IP, ELISA.

Target Name
BCAS3
Target Full Name
BCAS3 microtubule associated cell migration factor
Target Function
Plays a role in angiogenesis. Participates in the regulation of cell polarity and directional endothelial cell migration by mediating both the activation and recruitment of CDC42 and the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton at the cell leading edge. Promotes filipodia formation. Functions synergistically with PELP1 as a transcriptional coactivator of estrogen receptor-responsive genes. Stimulates histone acetyltransferase activity. Binds to chromatin. Plays a regulatory role in autophagic activity. In complex with PHAF1, associates with the preautophagosomal structure during both non-selective and selective autophagy. Probably binds phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P) which would mediate the recruitment preautophagosomal structures.
Target Involvement
A chromosomal aberration involving BCAS3 has been found in some breast carcinoma cell lines. Translocation t(17;20)(q23;q13) with BCAS4.
Target Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Preautophagosomal structure.

Target Background
Enables several functions, including acetyltransferase activator activity; beta-tubulin binding activity; and histone acetyltransferase binding activity. Involved in cellular response to estrogen stimulus; positive regulation of catalytic activity; and positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in nucleus; phagophore assembly site; and transcriptionally active chromatin. Biomarker of breast cancer.
