Rabbit anti-Human CD141/Thrombomodulin Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against CD141/Thrombomodulin was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 19-515 of human CD141/Thrombomodulin (NP_000352.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Uniprot IDP07204Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P07204

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    THBD

  • Target Full Name

    Thrombomodulin

  • Target Function

Thrombomodulin is a specific endothelial cell receptor that forms a 1:1 stoichiometric complex with thrombin. This complex is responsible for the conversion of protein C to the activated protein C (protein Ca). Once evolved, protein Ca scissions the activated cofactors of the coagulation mechanism, factor Va and factor VIIIa, and thereby reduces the amount of thrombin generated.

  • Target Involvement

Thrombophilia due to thrombomodulin defect (THPH12); Hemolytic uremic syndrome atypical 6 (AHUS6)

  • Target Subcellular Location

Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Endothelial cells are unique in synthesizing thrombomodulin.

  • Target Research Area

    Cardiovascular

  • Target Synonyms

THBD; THRM; Thrombomodulin; TM; Fetomodulin; CD antigen CD141

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this intronless gene is an endothelial-specific type I membrane receptor that binds thrombin. This binding results in the activation of protein C, which degrades clotting factors Va and VIIIa and reduces the amount of thrombin generated. Mutations in this gene are a cause of thromboembolic disease, also known as inherited thrombophilia.
