Flow cytometry: 1X10^6 293T cells (negative control, left)?and HEL cells (right) were surface-stained with CD226/DNAM-1 Rabbit mAb or ABflo? 488 Rabbit IgG isotype control, followed by FITC conjugated goat anti-Rabbit pAb staining. Non-fluorescently stained cells were used as blank control (red line).

Upon ligand binding, stimulates T-cell proliferation and cytokine production, including that of IL2, IL5, IL10, IL13, and IFNG. Competes with PVRIG for NECTIN2-binding.

Target Background
This gene encodes a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of NK cells, platelets, monocytes and a subset of T cells. It is a member of the Ig-superfamily containing 2 Ig-like domains of the V-set. The protein mediates cellular adhesion of platelets and megakaryocytic cells to vascular endothelial cells. The protein also plays a role in megakaryocytic cell maturation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
