The antibody against CD5 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 158-371 of human CD5 (NP_055022.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC-P, ELISA.

CD5
Target Full Name
T-cell surface glycoprotein CD5
Target Function
May act as a receptor in regulating T-cell proliferation.
Target Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Target Synonyms
CD5; LEU1; T-cell surface glycoprotein CD5; Lymphocyte antigen T1/Leu-1; CD antigen CD5
Target Background
This gene encodes a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily. Members of this family are secreted or membrane-anchored proteins mainly found in cells associated with the immune system. This protein is a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein found on the surface of thymocytes, T lymphocytes and a subset of B lymphocytes. The encoded protein contains three SRCR domains and may act as a receptor to regulate T-cell proliferation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
