The antibody against DGUOK was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 40-277 of human DGUOK (NP_550438.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
DGUOK
Target Full Name
Deoxyguanosine kinase, mitochondrial
Target Function
Phosphorylates deoxyguanosine and deoxyadenosine in the mitochondrial matrix, with the highest efficiency for deoxyguanosine. In non-replicating cells, where cytosolic dNTP synthesis is down-regulated, mtDNA synthesis depends solely on DGUOK and TK2. Phosphorylates certain nucleoside analogs. Widely used as target of antiviral and chemotherapeutic agents.
Target Involvement
Mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome 3 (MTDPS3); Portal hypertension, non-cirrhotic (NCPH); Progressive external ophthalmoplegia with mitochondrial DNA deletions, autosomal recessive 4 (PEOB4)
Target Subcellular Location
Mitochondrion.
Target Protein Families
DCK/DGK family
Target Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous. Highest expression in muscle, brain, liver and lymphoid tissues.
Target Research Area
Signal Transduction
Target Synonyms
DGUOK; DGK; Deoxyguanosine kinase; mitochondrial; dGK; EC 2.7.1.113
Target Background
In mammalian cells, the phosphorylation of purine deoxyribonucleosides is mediated predominantly by two deoxyribonucleoside kinases, cytosolic deoxycytidine kinase and mitochondrial deoxyguanosine kinase. The protein encoded by this gene is responsible for phosphorylation of purine deoxyribonucleosides in the mitochondrial matrix. In addition, this protein phosphorylates several purine deoxyribonucleoside analogs used in the treatment of lymphoproliferative disorders, and this phosphorylation is critical for the effectiveness of the analogs. Alternative splice variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described for this gene.
