Rabbit anti-Human GCA Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against GCA was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-217 of human GCA (NP_036330.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P28676

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    GCA

  • Target Full Name

    Grancalcin

  • Target Function

Calcium-binding protein that may play a role in the adhesion of neutrophils to fibronectin. May play a role in the formation of focal adhesions.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cytoplasm. Cytoplasmic granule membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Detected in neutrophils and macrophages (at protein level). Highly expressed in bone marrow.

  • Target Research Area

    others

  • Target Synonyms

    GCA; GCL; Grancalcin

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a calcium-binding protein that is abundant in neutrophils and macrophages. In the absence of divalent cation, this protein localizes to the cytosolic fraction; with magnesium alone, it partitions with the granule fraction; and in the presence of magnesium and calcium, it associates with both the granule and membrane fractions. Alternative splicing and use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants.
