Rabbit anti-Human GPAA1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against GPAA1 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 90-310 of human GPAA1 (NP_003792.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Immunogen Information

Immunogen DescriptionRecombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 90-310 of human GPAA1 (NP_003792.1).Target SpeciesHuman
Uniprot IDO43292Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    O43292

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    GPAA1

  • Target Full Name

    Glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor attachment 1 protein

  • Target Function

Essential for GPI-anchoring of precursor proteins but not for GPI synthesis. Acts before or during formation of the carbonyl intermediate.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Ubiquitously expressed in fetal and adult tissues. Expressed at higher levels in fetal tissues than adult tissues.

  • Target Synonyms

GPAA1; GAA1; Glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor attachment 1 protein; GPI anchor attachment protein 1; GAA1 protein homolog; hGAA1

  • Target Background

Posttranslational glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor attachment serves as a general mechanism for linking proteins to the cell surface membrane. The protein encoded by this gene presumably functions in GPI anchoring at the GPI transfer step. The mRNA transcript is ubiquitously expressed in both fetal and adult tissues. The anchor attachment protein 1 contains an N-terminal signal sequence, 1 cAMP- and cGMP-dependent protein kinase phosphorylation site, 1 leucine zipper pattern, 2 potential N-glycosylation sites, and 8 putative transmembrane domains.
