Rabbit anti-Human GRIK1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against GRIK1 was raised in rabbit using the Synthesized peptide derived from the N-terminal region of Human GluR-5. as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P39086

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    GRIK1

  • Target Full Name

    Glutamate receptor ionotropic, kainate 1

  • Target Function

Ionotropic glutamate receptor. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamate induces a conformation change, leading to the opening of the cation channel, and thereby converts the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor then desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state, characterized by the presence of bound agonist. May be involved in the transmission of light information from the retina to the hypothalamus.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell junction, synapse, postsynaptic cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

  • Target Protein Families

Glutamate-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.10.1) family, GRIK1 subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Most abundant in the cerebellum and the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) of the hypothalamus.

  • Target Synonyms

    EAA3; EEA3; Excitatory amino acid receptor 3; GLR5; GluR-5; GluR5; GluR6; GluR7; Glutamate receptor 5; Glutamate receptor; Glutamate receptor ionotropic kainate 1; GRIK1; GRIK1_HUMAN; Human glutamate receptor GLUR5; ionotropic kainate 1; OTTHUMP00000096569
