Rabbit anti-Human ICT1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against ICT1 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 30-206 of human ICT1 (NP_001536.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q14197

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    MRPL58

  • Target Full Name

    Large ribosomal subunit protein mL62

  • Target Function

Essential peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase component of the mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit. Acts as a codon-independent translation release factor that has lost all stop codon specificity and directs the termination of translation in mitochondrion, possibly in case of abortive elongation. May be involved in the hydrolysis of peptidyl-tRNAs that have been prematurely terminated and thus in the recycling of stalled mitochondrial ribosomes.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Mitochondrion.

  • Target Protein Families

Prokaryotic/mitochondrial release factor family, Mitochondrion-specific ribosomal protein mL62 subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Down-regulated during the in vitro differentiation of HT29-D4 colon carcinoma cells.

  • Target Research Area

    Metabolism

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase and a vital component of the large mitochondrial ribosome. The encoded protein serves as a ribosome release factor for this ribosome, which translates mitochondrial genes. This protein may be responsible for degrading prematurely-terminated polypeptides and for reusing stalled ribosomes. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
