The antibody against IFNA21 was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 100 to the C-terminus of human IFNA21 (NP_002166.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
IFNA21
Target Full Name
Interferon alpha-21
Target Function
Produced by macrophages, IFN-alpha have antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
Target Subcellular Location
Secreted.
Target Protein Families
Alpha/beta interferon family
Target Research Area
Immunology
Target Synonyms
IFNA21; Interferon alpha-21; IFN-alpha-21; Interferon alpha-F; LeIF F
Target Background
This gene is a member of the alpha interferon gene cluster on the short arm of chromosome 9. Interferons are cytokines produced in response to viral infection that mediate the immune response and interfere with viral replication. The encoded protein is a type I interferon and may play a specific role in the antiviral response to rubella virus.
