The antibody against JTB was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 31-105 of human JTB (NP_006685.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
JTB
Target Full Name
Protein JTB
Target Function
Required for normal cytokinesis during mitosis. Plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation. May be a component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), a complex that acts as a key regulator of mitosis. The CPC complex has essential functions at the centromere in ensuring correct chromosome alignment and segregation and is required for chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly. Increases AURKB activity. Inhibits apoptosis induced by TGFB1. Overexpression induces swelling of mitochondria and reduces mitochondrial membrane potential.
Target Subcellular Location
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Mitochondrion. Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, centrosome. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, spindle. Note=Detected at the centrosome and along spindle fibers during prophase and metaphase. Detected at the midbody during telophase.
Target Protein Families
JTB family
Target Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous. Expressed in all normal human tissues studied but overexpressed or underexpressed in many of their malignant counterparts.
Target Synonyms
JTB; HSPC222; Protein JTB; Jumping translocation breakpoint protein; Prostate androgen-regulated protein; PAR protein
Target Background
Enables protein kinase binding activity. Involved in mitotic cytokinesis and positive regulation of protein kinase activity. Located in cytoplasm and midbody. Colocalizes with centrosome and spindle.
